1.6.1 Lightroom Plugin Log File

The simplest way for us to troubleshoot sync-related bugs and poor sync performance is by our reviewing your plugin log file.  The plugin log contains error codes and other technical information which will greatly help to expedite our troubleshooting process.  We will likely ask for this log file prior to digging in to troubleshoot your issue; having it ready for us will help.

To send the Lightroom plugin log:
  1. Close and then restart Lightroom.  This will cause our plugin log file size to be trimmed to 5MB, and allow it to be more easily sent via email.
  2. Make note of photo filename(s) and/or sync date/time when your issue occurred, if known.  This will help us match a section of the plugin log.
  3. Go to Lightroom's Plug-in Manager (File -> Plug-in Manager...), and choose the Photosmith plugin in the left-hand column.
  4. In the Photosmith plugin, click the View Log button located just under the Photosmith header graphic.
  5. This will take you to where the log file is stored on your Mac or PC, using either Finder or Windows Explorer, respectively.
Note: While your plugin log file doesn’t contain actual photos, it may include any metadata that was synced (or attempted to sync) between Photosmith and Lightroom, User Collection names, and photo filenames.  It will never include information for photos not contained in a User Collection.
